Curriculum

The Bronston Canadian Academy Curriculum is structured around the Ontario Curriculum that is developed by the Ministry of Education. This curriculum is demonstrated to be current, relevant and appropriate for grades K-12 to create a pathway for success.

"U Direct Learning"

At Bronston our learning/teaching methodology is based on the principles of self directed learning also known as "U Direct Learning" here at Bronston. This is based on the modern concept that students learn best in an environment where they are encouraged to play a major role in their learning process.

ESL

At Bronston our ESL program is designed to prepare students with the language and communication skills required at the university level where English is the primary language.

Students are placed at the appropriate level after careful evaluation of their English language abilities, both written and verbal.

FSL

At Bronston our FSL program is designed to prepare students with the language and communication skills required at the university level to pursue a program in French or to prepare students with the skills required for a job.

Graduation Requirements

In order to obtain an OSSD a student must earn the following:

​

  • 18 compulsory credits

  • 12 optional credits 

  • 40 hours of community involvement activity 

  • Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT)

​
